Who we are
Daylight is a hiring page and pipeline tool. The company that posts a role decides the job, the requirements, and who moves forward. Daylight is not the employer and does not make hiring decisions.
If you apply to a role
We collect your name, email, optional phone, optional LinkedIn, resume PDF, must-have answers, optional custom answer, rejection-email preference, and stage-log entries about your application. You provide this so the posting company can review you. Answers are locked when you submit.
If you answer the fit check but don’t qualify
We store the role, the company that owns the role, the time, and which requirement didn’t match. We do not store your email, IP address, or cookie ID on that fail log.
Who sees an application
Founders signed in for the Daylight company that owns the role. If a recruiting agency posted the role, that is the agency’s Daylight account. The public page still names the hiring company. Daylight operators may access data to run, secure, or support the service. Public funnel numbers never show names. Anyone who has your private status link can open that application’s status page.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email) to run Daylight. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
Who operates Daylight
Daylight is operated by [operating company name: counsel to set].
Other recruiting databases
Daylight does not copy candidate data into any other recruiting database.
Your status link
The link is a secret. If you share it, anyone with it can see that application’s status. If you lose it, use “Already applied? Get your status link” on the job page and we will email it to the address on the application. We are not responsible for what happens after a link is forwarded.
Emails we send
Application confirmation (with your status link), a rejection note if you are not moving forward (unless you opt out), and a resend of the status link if you ask. We do not email you on every stage move. Delivery depends on our email provider and your inbox; a missed email does not change what the status page shows.
How long we keep data
We keep application and early-access data while the related company or role is active, and for up to 24 months after the role is closed or the last activity on that record, whichever is later. We may keep information longer when we need it for a dispute, security incident, or legal duty. Backups and logs can lag behind a deletion request. Counts that do not identify a person may be kept.
Ask us to delete
You can ask us to delete your data by emailing hello@daylighthire.com. We handle requests by hand. We do not promise instant deletion, deletion from every backup, or deletion of records we must keep for a legal claim. We may anonymize a record instead of erasing every related log row.
Companies (founders)
Early-access forms collect business contact details and answers about the company and hiring. We use them to review the request and operate Daylight. Founders are responsible for the candidate data they download, copy, or email outside Daylight.
Accounts and cookies
Candidates do not create accounts. Cookies are only what founder sign-in needs. We do not run advertising cookies.
